Meet the Founder
Louise Field MSc (Pending), BSc (Hons) SCPHN (HV), DipHE (RN Child)
I am an experienced safeguarding professional with more than 20 years of experience working across health, social care and multi-agency safeguarding systems. My career spans frontline clinical practice as a hospital and community nurse and Health Visitor, specialist safeguarding roles in acute, community and primary healthcare settings, and senior strategic leadership, providing me with a unique perspective on safeguarding across whole systems.
Having worked at system leadership level within the NHS, I have extensive expertise in both children's and adult safeguarding. My experience includes safeguarding leadership, multi-agency partnership working, statutory reviews, safeguarding audits, policy development, quality assurance, workforce development and practitioner supervision.
Throughout my career, I have been recognised for my approachable style, compassionate leadership and ability to build strong professional relationships. I am passionate about developing confident practitioners, creating psychologically safe spaces for reflection and helping organisations translate learning into practical improvements that make a real difference to children, adults and families.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to providing expert, practical and values-led safeguarding support that strengthens practice, supports professionals and promotes safer outcomes for all.
I am a Safeguarding Trustee for a national children's charity, providing strategic safeguarding leadership and independent oversight, ensuring the charity meets its responsibilities to children, young people and vulnerable adults. I support a strong safeguarding culture through governance, policy development, training, supervision, quality assurance and professional challenge, helping to ensure services remain safe, effective and aligned with current legislation and best practice.
I am studying for her MSc in Child Protection and Safeguarding Adults and am a trained statutory review author.

Golden Thread Safeguarding Consultancy was founded to help organisations build safer cultures, stronger safeguarding systems and more confident practitioners by providing expert safeguarding consultancy, training, supervision and statutory review support for organisations working with children, adults and families.
My approach is grounded in the belief that effective safeguarding is about more than compliance. It is about creating environments where people feel safe, heard and supported, while ensuring organisations meet their safeguarding responsibilities and continuously improve practice. I combine strategic expertise with practical solutions, helping organisations translate learning into meaningful and sustainable change.
I am guided by a clear set of values: safeguarding expertise, compassionate practice, psychological safety, continuous learning and a Think Family approach that recognises the interconnected experiences of children, adults and wider family networks. These principles underpin everything I do, whether I am delivering training, facilitating supervision, reviewing practice or supporting organisational development.
My aim is simple: to work alongside organisations as a trusted partner, helping them create safer services and achieve better outcomes for the people they support.
